Storm

Storm

So I actually got around to making Storm. I decided to do her in her current costume as I've been trying to stick with current costumes and then producing the 'classics' as variants at later dates (see last post). I think this costume emphasises her 'femininity' a bit more than the old 90s coverall with the giant shoulders (Il get to that costume eventually).

I tried to recreate the outfit as best as I could but it seems to change Artist to artist, even down to things like the colouring (ie the costume highlights being white or gold randomly) but I tihnk i've got a good enough aproximation to work with the look of my models and to make her look good.

Here's Storm......

This one, as you can probably tell from the photos, is VERY complicated and so I wouldn't recomend making this one until you have made at least one other model, so you know the mechanics of how parts like the hair fit together. I've tried to put as detailed explanations as I can in but let me know if you are having any problems and I will try to clarify things.

Remember : My host is pretty bad and I've been getting a couple of hundred times more traffic than I ever expected, so if the file doesn't download, try again after an hour or so or the next day.

To download right click files and then click "save target as.."
Otherwise, if Explorer has any problems or it doesn't download the whole file it seems to cache it half loaded so people are having trouble with only a few pages loading.

Download Storm here

Hope you all enjoy. Feel free to show other people my site and to post pictures of any of your models when you complete them.

Any comments welcome

Regards
Xavier

That is fantastic!! Perhaps the best one yet. Any chance of adding lighting bolts to her hands? Just a suggestion. Can't wait to see the next one.

Great work again Xavier, I really like the added details you do to each character now. Storm looks amazing.

She looks amazing, as always. And this is a really good body base to put her in her original costume, as well as give here the mohawk look.

Another one knocked out of the park.

Hello Xavier,
I just wanted to thank you for your blog! I work with a boy in a school who is ADHD, ODD, and probably dyslexic as well. My challenge every day is to keep him focused and motivated to learn how to read. The way I do that is to allow him to do a craft after he's done his work. Needless to say, finding a craft every day that is interesting to him can be very challenging. Yesterday he told me he likes X-men. When I did a search for x-men crafts I came across your site. I think we'll try Wolverine today ('cause I know he likes Wolverine) and then I'll find out which other X-men characters he likes. That should keep him motivated for a while! I suspect we'll be doing Iron Man and The Hulk as well!
Anyway, thanks again for posting this blog!

Hey Xavier,
I was wondering what is the latest X Men and when will it come out?

Hello! I love the models, thank you for providing.
I wish it were the next Shadowcat, would be cool if it were only half of it, as if going through the place that was exposed.

Thank you!

Ale , Brasil !

is it possible for you to make the colossus body bigger. the head is to big for that body and compared to the other x-men you have designed he should be bigger.

Hi, Xavier, I love all the X-Models you have made and I was wondering if you could take a picture of all your X-Men Models together like you done before. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. Thanks a load for all the comments :) Its great to hear your feedback on them all! (Jenny B especially, that made my day).

A few follow ups to questions...

Kitty.

I'l get to her eventually but theres still a few I want to get done first. When I do I'd love to have some kind of effect to highlight her phasing but I will make it optional (similar to how cannonball can be flying or not).

Collosus.
He was one of my first ever models, so though I'm attached to him, I do think he probably needs an update eventually. If you compare my two cyclops models you can see how much my models have come along. Again an update won't be for a while though.

Spiderman/Deadpool/Nightcrawler.
planning on getting all 3 done eventually. One of these three i've actually been working on for a while so hopefully will be out over the next few months)

As for the next update... I've finished my next model now and just need to package it up and get it online. Hopefully it should be online by the end of the week :)

It's another Marvel character thats been requested in the past, but another non-X-Men character. Hope you'll all like it.

Xavier

You are AMAZING! i'm definitely sharing this blog with everyone i know. Storm is my favorite character and you have definitely done her justice! I think a challenge would be trying to do the costume Simone Bianchi made for her during astonishing x-men! Keep up the great work, I can't wait to make all of them!

Hi !

Great model !

I can't put the pieces of the stand together though....the front side is not big enough to cover the front of the stand, and the fixation at the top is strange as well...too big

Is it me ???
