Gambit

Gambit

Happy New Year Everyone! Thankyou all for visiting and making it a pleasure to be running this site :) I hope you've all enjoyed making the models on the site so far and continue to come back for all the models i design in 2010 :)

Remember : My host is pretty bad and getting far more traffic than its meant to, so if the file doesn't download, try again after an hour or so or the next day.

Here's Gambit...

Well done for the people that guessed my hints in my last comment :) As you can see, theres quite a lot to him. The coat took some effort to get right but ended up looking better than I thought it would. Just rememeber not to crease and fold the tabs at the bottom of the coat so the whole coat curves around fluidly.

If you have any problems putting him together, have a look at the pictures to see if they give a hint to how its done or ask on here if your still having trouble.

On to Comments / Requests....

@The person who said they created IronMan out of A5 paper : Nice work! That must have been incredibly fiddly (though I guess they must take up a lot less room that way). Send the pics to mypaperheroes@hotmail.co.uk and il show them to everyone else for you :)

@The people who created some of these as gifts for people : I hope they were well recieved :)

@All the Storm fans : I'm planning on getting her done in the next month or 2, just need to be patient and I hope you enjoy any models i offer in the meantime, besides if you build it up too much it might end up being a disapointment :( She's one of the last few oldskool X-Men so I will definately get to her.

@Everyone : Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Any comments welcome

Regards
Xavier

These are amazing. How can I contact you for a similar project?

WHERE DO YOU GET THESE? I mean you have to get them from some website? I really want to know so I can see what X-Men you can make(if you wanted to. I would still come on this website to make them. But if you actually color these yourself and its not ink... YOU ARE AMAZING!

Thanks :D
Yep, They're all planned, designed and coloured by me on my computer (using Adobe Flash in case anyones interested)
then I print them off and most of the time build myself (though sometimes my gf builds them for me, as she says building them is relaxing and theraputic)

You can download the models yourself as PDF files with the linkes on this blog (go get Adobe Acrobat if you dont have it) so you can print them and make them yourself.

Contacting me, post any requests, ideas, suggestions or comments on the comments here. If you want to get in contact with me for another reason send an email to mypaperheroes@hotmail.co.uk

this is amazing, keep up the great work! i can't tell you how cool these are and how rewarding it is when you're finished and you have a miny x-men team sitting infront of you.

May I know what kind of paper (and the size as well) that you used for this? :) Thanks

Private Me said...

Regular photocopy / printing paper (or thicker if you wish, I know I prefer thicker paper). The size is A4, also regular standard size. Though I've tried to have them printed in A3 size on large format printers, and they still work great.

Hey, This is really cool stuff, I wonder if you can come up with some Mortal Kombat characters

Xavier Gale-Sides said...

Mortal Kombat? interesting idea. StreetFighter could be cool too :)

@Telmo, how'd they look with A3 paper? must be huge :D

Not had a load of time to work on my models this month sadly. I have though pretty much finished a pair of variants/alternate models that Im hoping to get online within the next week. Hopefully they should more than make up for not having someone brand new this month.

(ps.They're not who you think they're going to be.. MwaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!)

Gambit looks great!! I just stumbled upon this blog and I'm really blown away by your talent. I can't wait to try to assemble one of these. I put together a Quake Marine paper model back in the day and it was a lot of fun.

While I'm here I have to make a request for my favorite character, Cable!!! (preferably in the old school X-Force #1 costume or Ultimate X-Men costume. That would be amazing.

Thanks for sharing these with us and keep up the awesome work.

I am going to ask if you would make these characters. I am just putting suggestions so you do not have to make these characters.
Storm
Shadowcat
Nightcrawler
Jubilee
Cable
Magneto
Mystec
Sabertooth
Scarlet Whitch
Guicksilver
Polaris
You do not have 2 make these but I would love 2 print any of these!

Dont forget 2 add
Avalanche
Toad
Blob
Pyro
Juggernout
Apocolips
Mr.Sinister
Blink

Hi I had two questions for you but first these are amazing! I'm really really impressed I've never seen any thing like these before, I'm having alto of fun with them. But my questions 1. Do I have you permission to frankenstein a few of these to make my own? I promise to give you full credit if I ever post it...which is...unlikely unles it's here on this website to show you and second, if permission is granted could I ask for a recolor request on one small part?
Here is my E-Mail Alexshermanlyman@yahoo.com.
Please e-mail me back wether with good news or bad, Id be very happy to hear from you.

I find it strange the way human nature wants heroes and yet wants to destroy their heroes. It's a kind of mass insecurity people want something to look up to and get a buzz off but, at the same time, want to destroy it because it makes them feel insecure. See the link below for more info.
